Primary

What We Believe

Ready to grow.
Our primary students are done “playing” school and ready for the real thing. We know our young learners are intrinsically motivated because they work hard and are willing to try...and try again. We teach our students that mistakes are okay because they are opportunities for growth and change. Instilling values like perseverance and grit prepare them for future success.

Environment matters.
The calm, intimate primary unit of kindergartners, first graders and second graders provides an environment where students feel comfortable being themselves and taking risks. With six classrooms in one hallway, the primary community is safe and supportive. Teachers challenge students, but lead with patience and compassion, fostering individual strengths and modalities. But building a foundation of skills and knowledge is not enough; our primary environment builds students’ confidence, courage and character as well.

Faith is for sharing.
We are all God’s children. Why hide it? There is pure joy around faith at this age, discovering the love of Jesus and wanting to share it with others. Our students are ready to share their faith with family, friends and neighbors and so we begin to teach our students how they can put their faith and love into action.
